Each year, the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside challenges thousands of brave jumpers from around the state. It's a great way for everyone--individuals, teams, organizations and businesses--to get involved supporting Special Olympics New Jersey. All funds raised go towards programming and events for thousands of athletes statewide.

The Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside Heights presented by New Jersey Law Enforcement as part of the year-round fundraising of Law Enforcement Torch Run® events is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics New Jersey athletes by jumping into the frigid Atlantic waters during February.

Karen Pomeroy and David Stock are” two” both from Seaside Park, New Jersey siblings where they grew up and worked on the boardwalk. Their family owned and operated many Seaside Park attractions from the 1930s-60s.
The idea of creating a show together was born from the idea of” two” being siblings and both being artists and both growing up on the Jersey Shore.

David Stock creates acrylics, depictions of times passed on the Jersey Shore and of classic photos and pieces of vintage advertising. Karen Pomeroy creates watercolors and oils of beach scenes, local areas of the Jersey Shore using various techniques of watercolors…

2022 Christmas Tree Recycling Project

IBSP is pleased to announce the second annual Christmas Tree recycling project!  We will be collecting freshly discarded Christmas trees to aid in the improvement and health of our dune system!    Dropoff Date:  January 8, 2022 Dropoff Time: 9am – 1pm  Dropoff Location:  Swimming Area #2  Please bring tree clear of lights and ornaments.  No flocked trees will be accepted.  Trees will be loaded directly into trucks that will bring them out to the beach.  Staff will be onsite to assist with the unloading/reloading process.

The launch of NASA's  James Webb Space Telescope has been delayed yet again.


NASA's long-awaited space observatory is now scheduled to lift off from French Guiana no earlier than Dec. 24, two days later than previously planned. 

"The James Webb Space Telescope team is working a communication issue between the observatory and the launch vehicle system," NASA officials  said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec. 14). "This will delay the launch date to no earlier than Friday, Dec. 24. We will provide more information about the new launch date no later than Friday, Dec. 17."

The James Webb Space Telescope will ride to space on an  Ariane 5 rocket provided by the European launch company Arianespace.

In today’s market, inventory is still low while demand remains high. This leads to fierce competition among buyers, who should not expect to negotiate a lower sale price like they could in a normal housing market. Currently, sellers receive an average of 3.8 offers and their homes sell in about 17 days. The deputy chief economist at CoreLogic, Selma Hepp, says, “The imbalance between robust demand and dismal availability of for-sale homes has led to a continual bidding over asking prices, which reached record levels in recent months. Now, almost six in ten homes listed are selling over the asking price.”
